Today at snack time, Veronica requested yogurt and finished first. She got down and went to pushing her baby, Amy, around in the grocery cart. When Thomas finished his snack, he insisted, "Sissy wash my hands." Veronica was quite pleased with this idea and went to work. She only required minimal backup. Had it been another snack, she would have been finished on her own. Since Thomas eats yogurt with his hands, I thought I should give it a second swipe.
We stopped what we were doing this morning just after 9 and said a prayer for a friend's sister who was having surgery. Thomas even folded his hands and did the sign of the cross. Not easy to get them to stop playing for anything.
Of course, after yesterday's visit with Danny and Dawn, we had to read books in the tent.
We finally had our 2 year check up with Dr. Cromer. Thomas took it all really well until the shot. Very cooperative with the doc. Went up to him on his own and investigated all the equipment before it was used on him. Veronica did better than she ever has until the shot. Thomas has gained 6 inches and 8 pounds in the last year putting him at 36.5 inches and 31.5 pounds. Veronica gained 4 inches and 6 pounds, making her 34 inches and 26 pounds.
During bath time tonight, they used their bath crayons to write on cups. Veronica showed me that she spelled her name and Mommy's name. I asked her how to spell her name:
V: V
Me: Good. What's next? E...
V: R... O... N...
Me: Great! Then it's 'I'...
V: C... (long pause)
Me: What's the last letter?
V: A!
Amazing! I tried it again.
Me: How do you spell 'Veronica'? What does Veronica start with?
V: 'T!' (This is usually what she says it starts with.)
Me: That's what Thomas starts with. Veronica starts with a V...
V: W X Y ...
Me: E R....
V: S T U
Me: O
V: P
She did too much correctly in order for it to be a fluke, but she was only up to doing it once.
