'lil Mommy

We spent the morning playing with our friend Emily. Since we'd just seen them the day before, the kids were quite excited to go to her house.

Veronica has been quite motherly lately. She is very attentive to the needs of her babies (feeding, changing, sleeping). Everything about her needs to be "baby" as well. She has named a specific set of cups her "baby cups" and wants to drink out of them regularly. She calls her car seat her "baby seat." She requests, "Hold me like a baby, Mommy." She makes her doll walk with her. I asked her who Amy's mommy was: "Veronica."

We took a walk with Daddy in the afternoon. Thomas got quite a workout skipping and running - and running circles around Daddy. He has this new run which looks like it's straight out of a musical - sideways with both arms bent, one behind his back and the other at his chest. Veronica brought Amy (baby doll) with her in a stroller. She was constantly stopping to check on Amy, "Amy cold" or "Amy sleeping." At one point she had to stop the walk because "Amy stinky." We sent the boys ahead so she could pull Amy out of the stroller, lay her down in the grass, and mime changing her diaper - even down to pulling her up by her feet so she could wipe her tush.
