Folly Beach, SC...

...that's Struck Carolina, thank you. That's right the Struck Crew headed to Folly Island this summer. We had a four bedroom house we all shared - right on a gorgeous beach.


We arrived on the 4th of July, in plenty of time to catch the fireworks.



We partied like rock stars...



...and crashed like them.

We were surrounded by gorgeous scenery...

...and a lot of history.

We ate like kings.

Veronica was quite the beach baby... after the 24 hours it took to step her toe on the sand.

Thomas as all about the ocean. He jumped over the waves and loved to be held in them.

Veronica wasn't really into the water, but would head out if she'd been away from her brother too long.

The Krings were spoiled by all the Strucks.

Dawn brought art projects for us all to do on rainy days. Who knew you could make gorgeous jewelry out of Shrinky-Dinks?

Thomas and Veronica used 'swissors' for the first time.

We were even sent away for a whole day's worth of a date while the kids spent the morning with Mamak and Pa and the evening with their aunts and uncles. We spent the day touring Judson's family's old annual vacation haunts in Murrells Inlet and Myrtle Beach. We had an amazing dinner at Oliver's (hush puppies with strawberry butter - who would have known?) and dessert at what used to be the Wayside Inn (Key lime pie - mmmm....).

Veronica and Thomas found things to explore on the beach and in the beach house. They played a lot of "school bus" in everyone's suitcases - most of the time in their closets!

When it came down to it, the best part was the quality time with our amazing family.
